## The walkaround code is the operational win

Daily walkaround inspections generate the fleet's worst paperwork: paper pads, illegible
registrations, defects that reach the workshop days late. A code per vehicle carrying
the registration in the URL —

photos and taps, timestamped on arrival at the workshop's queue. One spreadsheet of

## Maintenance history at the vehicle

The same [asset-tagging pattern](/docs/ecommerce/qr-code-asset-tagging) used on factory
plant fits vehicles: a durable tag on the door pillar linking the vehicle's service
history and next-due dates. Engine bays and door frames get heat, vibration and washing,

## Wrap codes: parked, never moving

Be honest about physics: a QR code on a moving van is unscannable and an invitation to
try from behind the wheel. Wrap codes work when the vehicle is **parked** — outside the
job, at lights visible to pedestrians, in the depot queue. Size for a passer-by at
2–5 m: **20–50 cm** of code, per the

the rear or side panel below eye level, with the offer and short URL printed beside it.

## What goes wrong

- One shared "report a defect" code for the whole fleet, so every report starts with a
  mistyped registration.
- Paper tags in engine bays; six months of heat and washes later, nothing scans.
- Wrap codes at 5 cm — invisible at any distance a pavement offers.
