Before you print
How big should it be?
Rule of thumb: printed width ≥ scanning distance ÷ 10. Pick the surface above and the studio sizes the code for you, then checks the printed module size against what a press can actually hold.
Questions people actually ask
MeCard is a compact format from NTT DoCoMo with just the essentials: name, phone, email, website, note. Its payload is much smaller, so the code has fewer squares and scans more easily at small sizes. vCard holds more fields — company, job title, full address.
When the code will be printed small — the back of a business card, a name badge, a product tag. If you need company, title, or address fields, use the vCard tool instead.
Yes — both iPhone and Android camera apps recognize MeCard and open the add-contact screen, the same as with vCard.
The code is generated entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to our servers, and it is free with no signup. Anyone who scans the code can read the details, though, so only include what you would hand out on paper.
