How big should it be?
Rule of thumb: printed width ≥ scanning distance ÷ 10. Pick the surface above and the studio sizes the code for you, then checks the printed module size against what a press can actually hold.
Questions people actually ask
Their phone shows a new-contact screen with your name, numbers, email, company, and address filled in. They tap save and you are in their address book — no app needed, and it works offline because everything lives inside the code.
Pick 3.0 unless you have a reason not to — it has the widest scanner support, including older Android phones. 4.0 is the newer standard but a few scanners still mishandle it.
No. The code is generated entirely in your browser, free with no signup. But remember the details are readable by anyone who scans the code — only include what you would put on a paper business card.
Every field you fill adds bytes, and more bytes mean smaller squares. If you are printing small, skip optional fields like the full address — a name, number, email, and website scan beautifully.
Not with a static code — the details are baked into the squares. If your details change often, encode a URL to a contact page instead, and update the page rather than the code.
